A boy was born to a couple after eleven years of marriage. They were a loving couple and the boy was the gem of their eyes. When the boy was around two years old, one morning the husband saw a medicine bottle open. He was late for office so he asked his wife to cap the bottle and keep it in the cupboard. His wife, preoccupied in the kitchen totally forgot the matter. The boy saw the bottle and playfully went to the bottle fascinated by its color and drank it all. It happened to be a poisonous medicine meant for adults in small dosages. When the child collapsed the mother hurried him to the hospital, where he died. The mother was stunned. She was terrified how to face her husband. When the distraught father came to the hospital and saw the dead child, he looked at his wife and uttered just five words.

If everyone can look at life with this kind of perspective, there would be much fewer problems in the world. "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step". Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears. And you will find things are actually not as difficult as you think.
MORAL OF THE STORY:
Sometimes we spend time in asking who is responsible or whom to blame, whether in a relationship, in a job or with the people we know.
If you blame others for your failures, do you credit them with your success?
All blame is a waste of time. No matter how much fault you find with another, and regardless of how much you blame him, it will not change you. The only thing blame does is to keep the focus off you when you are looking for external reasons to explain your unhappiness or frustration. You may succeed in making another feel guilty about something by blaming him, but you won't succeed in changing whatever it is about you that is making you unhappy.
People spend too much time finding other people to blame, too much energy finding excuses for not being what they are capable of being, and not enough energy putting themselves on the line, growing out of the past, and getting on with their lives.
The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.
Take your life in your own hands, and what happens? A terrible thing: no one to blame.

ANSWER :

The husband's totally unexpected reaction is a proactive behavior. The child is dead. He can never be brought back to life. There is no point in finding fault with the mother. Besides, if only he had taken time to keep the bottle away, this would not have happened.. No one is to be blamed. She had also lost her only child. What she needed at that moment was consolation and sympathy from the husband. That is what he gave her.

Hey sophie,
sorry i havent been around this week...but seems like this is the only topic i missed on ur blog rite?
So its the blame game this week eh? I see and understand what u r sayin but sometimes its easier just to blame someone and relieve urself of the trouble. Yeah its not the correct thing to do but as humans i guess the easier path is the most commonly chosen one...
a life without blame...do u really think thats possible?..there is after allways something to blame and always people to attach blame to..:-)
Yup.. every word of ur post very true...
A plain simple thing which we hardly realize.. blaming bears no fruit..
hii Sophie
loved the story, if only we can behave in such an angelic way, world would be a heaven BUT its really not easy to let go of past tragedies and bad experiences STILL we must try, because life is too small for grudges :)
nice post
@ Dream'R - Yais, only thing you missed on my this blog.
Our proper bliss depends on what we blame.
Its human nature, Man blames fate or other people or things for other accidents but feels personally responsible for a hole-in-one.
@ Gautam Anand - It is no use to blame the looking glass if your face is awry.
@ A S - Thanx, Ye we should try, tough not impossible! :)
